From Dec 6, 2006

From December 6, 2006
Dear sister Char & everyone at OJP,
Greetings to you in the name of Lord Jesus Christ. We received the gift you sent by Ikobo for the Christmas feast. Yesterday, our electricity lines were connected to the main grid! We now have electricity power in the house. We are thankful that our heavenly Father is caring and providing for us as is promised in the Scriptures.
Already, there are lamps installed in all the rooms. We are currently using charcoal and locally made stove for cooking and heating. We are in dire need of portable electric cooker, and "Pressing Iron" for our clothes. To get all the basics electrical appliances, it will cost around $200. Please, we are appealing to you to pray and seek the mind of Jesus about helping us to get these electrical appliances.
As usual, extend our greetings, love and thanks to your families and to the brethren there at Operation Jesus Pictures - USA. We look forward to hearing from you again.

The reaction of the children's to the gifts is excitement!

Greetings in the great name of Lord Jesus Christ. Thanks for your last emails, and for providing the online chat information. I pray that I will be able to meet you there sometime soon! We are so glad to hear about the banner and the large pictures that is coming on the way! Let Stephen that made the banner knows that we so much appreciate the art work, and we pray God's blessing upon him.
The reaction of the children's to the gifts is excitement! All so much appreciate the gifts chosen especially for them. Every child received what they like the most - we are amazed that you make the choice for their gifts in accordance to what they like. All the gifts were FAVORITE! When we told the children that it is all from Jesus, they start singing our favorite chorus:
Thank you Jesus(3x)
Thank you my Lord
The gifts demonstrate a lot of things, it also shows the love of Christ in reality to these little children. We all admire the purple dinosaur as it sings. When the banner arrives, we hope to send more pictures with it as we are able.
Extend our greetings, love and thanks to everyone there.

Christmas Package received!

Dear Char & everyone at OJP,

Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are very glad to inform you that the package arrived yesterday safely - with all the included cash intact! We retrieved it with approximately US $20 because of its size and the quantity of the items.

Since yesterday, all the children are filled with great joy! I can't equally conveyed their thanks to you all by email, but all expressions can be summarize as "thank you very much". All parents too are so grateful, and we rejoice that Jesus is blessing us in this way through you. I also want to say thank you for the gift of the Bible. I dedicate it to the work of our Lord here, and through it, that the work will multiply and that the Father himself will do great works in our midst. That the eyes of the blind will be opened and the tongue of the dumb will sing for joy.We hope that you received the email we sent two days ago informing you that we have electricity connected now.

May the Lord continue to use us for His glory and eternal purpose. Extend our greetings, love and joy to our brothers and sisters there at OJP - USA! We look forward to hearing from you!

Christmas Feast in Ghana

Brother Joseph and the Believer's Ministry are going to participate with us in the King's Feast at Christmas. They are going to join us in eating the same foods on that day as we will eat in America and in Rwanda. The menu consists of beef, macaroni, rice, fruit for dessert, sodas to eat, and cooked bananas.
They have not been able to celebrate Christmas for several years because of their hard circumstances. They have 13 children, and another on the way, and 18 adults, all living together in one household, at the farm they are renting in Ghana.
Here is some pictures of a package of presents for the children and for the household that was sent to them for Christmas in November 2006 by OJP in America:

BELIEVER'S MINISTRY IN GHANA

Brother Joseph and the Believer's Ministry

There is a group of around 30 people who were living in Togo, Africa together, who called themselves "Believer's Ministry". They tried to follow the example of the early church, and serve Jesus together and have all things in common. The leader of the group's name is Joseph. In early 2005 there was political trouble in Togo when the President of the nation died and the army tried to put the president's son in his place. There was an outcry against this, for freedom's sake, which the people wanted. One of the central villages in the opposition was the village where Brother Joseph and the Believer's Ministry were living. The army began to come against this village so Brother Jospeh and the believers with him were forced to flee the country. They all moved to Ghana, to the capital city of Accra.

As refugees, it became very hard to find jobs, making it almost impossible for the little flock of Believers to support themselves. Many times they went hungry. Out of desperation they went back to Togo briefly. One of their members was killed when the army went house to house seeking to eliminate any potential opposition, so they returned to Ghana, where they live now.

While still originally in Togo, Brother Joseph came across our web site and sent us an email requesting the free pictures of Jesus that we give out all over the world through OJP. We sent pictures of Jesus to him and we began to talk to each other through emails and in Yahoo Messenger and we began praying for all of them, our brothers and sisters in Togo. He never told us in the beginning of the hardships he and the Believers were suffering. They were looking to Jesus for everything. Their interest was in giving others the treasure of Jesus while suffering many things themselves. That is selfless love, love that is a mark of the Bride of Jesus, His bride that loves Him above herself.

At one time a woman with the Believers was in the hospital having a baby and she had a picture of Jesus with her. She said that Jesus smiled at her from the picture, which has happened to us many times. Think of the comfort that gave this faithful woman. Jesus is present by His Holy Spirit. Another time her husband had an injury in his leg and they took a handkerchief that we had sent to them after laying hands on it and praying for the sick, and Jesus healed her husband's leg, which was another loving miracle from the Father.

We continue to send pictures of Jesus and THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST to Brother Joseph and the Believer's Minstry. Brother Joseph, who is an educated man, translated JESUS IS ALIVE AND KNOWS YOUR NAME into Ewe, a language used in Ghana, Togo, and Benin.
