BELIEVER'S MINISTRY IN GHANA

Brother Joseph and the Believer's Ministry

There is a group of around 30 people who were living in Togo, Africa together, who called themselves "Believer's Ministry". They tried to follow the example of the early church, and serve Jesus together and have all things in common. The leader of the group's name is Joseph. In early 2005 there was political trouble in Togo when the President of the nation died and the army tried to put the president's son in his place. There was an outcry against this, for freedom's sake, which the people wanted. One of the central villages in the opposition was the village where Brother Joseph and the Believer's Ministry were living. The army began to come against this village so Brother Jospeh and the believers with him were forced to flee the country. They all moved to Ghana, to the capital city of Accra.

As refugees, it became very hard to find jobs, making it almost impossible for the little flock of Believers to support themselves. Many times they went hungry. Out of desperation they went back to Togo briefly. One of their members was killed when the army went house to house seeking to eliminate any potential opposition, so they returned to Ghana, where they live now.

While still originally in Togo, Brother Joseph came across our web site and sent us an email requesting the free pictures of Jesus that we give out all over the world through OJP. We sent pictures of Jesus to him and we began to talk to each other through emails and in Yahoo Messenger and we began praying for all of them, our brothers and sisters in Togo. He never told us in the beginning of the hardships he and the Believers were suffering. They were looking to Jesus for everything. Their interest was in giving others the treasure of Jesus while suffering many things themselves. That is selfless love, love that is a mark of the Bride of Jesus, His bride that loves Him above herself.

At one time a woman with the Believers was in the hospital having a baby and she had a picture of Jesus with her. She said that Jesus smiled at her from the picture, which has happened to us many times. Think of the comfort that gave this faithful woman. Jesus is present by His Holy Spirit. Another time her husband had an injury in his leg and they took a handkerchief that we had sent to them after laying hands on it and praying for the sick, and Jesus healed her husband's leg, which was another loving miracle from the Father.

We continue to send pictures of Jesus and THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST to Brother Joseph and the Believer's Minstry. Brother Joseph, who is an educated man, translated JESUS IS ALIVE AND KNOWS YOUR NAME into Ewe, a language used in Ghana, Togo, and Benin.
